    Passionate about vintage tractors

The Vintage Garden Tractor Company is built on Founder Wilf Robinson’s passion for restoring beautiful classic tractors.

The fascination with the Ferguson runs through Wilf’s blood and is imbedded in his family history, including ancestors who farmed sugar plantations in the West Indies. Wilf’s grandfather, Doctor Dick Robinson, was one of the most distinguished gardeners of the 20th Century and Wilf grew up watching his grandfather develop and cultivate beautiful gardens at the family home of Hyde Hall in Essex. Years later in the 1990s, Hyde Hall was gifted to the Royal Horticultural Society by his family and today the gardens are renowned for their vast collections.

Wilf was also inspired by his father-in-law, who grew up on a farm in the 1950s. Throughout his childhood, he spent many days on a Ferguson tractor and the vehicle evoked many happy memories for him.

Fast forward a few decades and Wilf’s father-in-law decided to reignite his boyhood love for Ferguson tractors when he retired. The pair searched far and wide to find the vintage tractor, however when it arrived at their farm, it was in a very sorry state of repair and needed lots of TLC.

After unsuccessfully looking for a reputable company to restore the machine, the duo took the restoration on as a project. Inspired by his father-in-law’s love for tractors, Wilf’s passion for restoration flourished and The Vintage Garden Tractor Company was born.
